Walk for the dress

"Nice dress, you look like a hippie" was the first thing my mother said to me when spotting me in this navy number. I honestly don't think I look anything like a god damn hippie. Nothing wrong with looking like a hippie! But I took the opportunity to take photos and share my hippiness with you. Let's get some opinions flying around here, hippie? homeless chic? You choose.

There is a tortuous story behind this dress. First off, I proudly bought it from Value Village or a more blogger friendly way of saying it: a cute little vintage shop and I decided to bring my little pooch alone for the adventure. I would be lying if I said it was a beautiful, sunny day to take your furry friend for a walk. The temperature outside was 35 Celsius plus humidity and my dog hasn't been groomed for 6 months. You put two and two together. Just do it. The walk to the 'cute little vintage shop' is a short 15-30 minutes depending if you're crawling, walking, running, skipping. P.S. We walked. Point is, we got there. But we were not enjoying life. I was panting, she was panting. I was sweating, she was panting (all she does is pant, eat, bark, and cuddle). So, I thought a way to apologize to her for the severity of the walk was to feature her in this post.

My Unfortunate Obsession with 'vintage' clothing prompted me to include the pooch on this HOT adventure that I like to call: The Afternoon Walk. Poor me. Poor victim me. People, it's not about getting heat stroke or causing doggy dehydration, it's about getting that dress. JKZ. Okay, this is turning into a preachy post and that is the LAST thing that paigey wants. The point is, there is no point. Don't take your dog on a walk when it is 35 Celsius outside, even it is for a dress that makes you look like a hippie.

My neck and wrists, of course.

Do you wear creases with pride? Do you take your dog for walks? Do you shop a Value Village?

  2. In image consulting we call these wrinkles "prestige wrinkles"
It looks like the dress you are wearing is linen, often considered "cruise wear".
At one time, the elite with money who could afford to cruise or travel to hot exotic places would often wear linen to stay cool. At that time it wasn't widely available and mostly in boutique shops and much more expensive than it is these days.
    Hippie, homeless or chic ?
It's hot and linen is in ! Along with the "prestige wrinkles"

Now I can happily call my creases: "prestige wrinkles"!
